Corlann invites applications for Permanent Full Time Staff Nurse/Enhanced Nurse positions in the Children’s Services, Roscommon. The role involves supporting development programmes, providing complex nursing care, and educating families and care staff within a multidisciplinary team.
The posts are based at Spraoi Children’s Respite Service with flexible day/night hours, 75 hours per fortnight, and a pro‑rata allowance where appropriate. Applicants must have NMBI registration and English fluency.

A panel may be formed as a result of this process from which subsequent Staff Nurse/Enhanced Nurse appointments within the Children's Services may be made over the next 6 months.
This post is primarily located in Spraoi Children's Respite Service. Spraoi provides a respite service to children from 6 years of age up to 18 years of age who have a wide range of needs including those with Physical disability, complex medical needs, Autism and behavioural needs. Candidates will be required to be completely flexible in this position and will be required to work a variety of hours including day and night duty hours.
To support the implementation of children's individualised developmental and educational programmes and work together with the multidisciplinary and staff teams in ensuring the maximum benefit of the programme for the children. To provide clinical nursing skills in supporting children with complex needs. To demonstrate and maintain the highest quality of nursing practice and apply his/ her skills to ensure the developmental, learning, physical, social, and emotional needs of the children in his/ her care are addressed at all times. Be an informed resource for educating and supporting care assistants and family members.

Candidates must demonstrate:
75 hours per fortnight based on a 7-day/night duty roster. The successful candidate will be required to work days, evenings, weekends, public holidays and night duty to meet service needs. The Corlann model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual.
24 days pro rata per annum. Appropriate service-related leave will be granted after 5 and 10 years' service respectively.
Department of Health salary scales as at 01/06/2026 apply:
Salary quoted is based on a 37.5 hour working week. The successful candidate will be granted incremental credit subject to satisfactory verification of previous relevant nursing service.
Additional payments will be made for weekends, public holidays, and sleep-ins and night duty when worked. A location allowance of €2,637 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) will also be paid when assigned to services where 75% of the persons supported have a diagnosis of severe/profound intellectual disability.
The posts are permanent, full time and pensionable.
A probationary period of nine months from the date of appointment applies to the post. The employment may be terminated at any time during the probationary period should the employer find that the appointee is unsuitable to continue employment. The probation period may be extended at the Employer’s discretion.
