  • Promote design‑for‑manufacturing (DFM) and design‑for‑test (DFT) to ensure smooth transfer into production environments.

  • Support ongoing sustaining engineering activities related to production and procurement.

  • Act as the primary technical authority for major projects.

Project Management & Execution
  • Collaborate with project management functions to ensure timely delivery across multiple concurrent initiatives.

  • Define and maintain clear project milestones and expectations for quality and performance.

  • Coordinate design reviews, prototype builds, testing activities, and product qualification.

  • Implement effective risk management and issue‑resolution frameworks across all engineering disciplines.

Process & Performance Improvement
  • Establish and refine engineering processes, documentation standards, and review practices.

  • Implement scalable development methodologies suited to an evolving organisation (e.g., Agile, Stage‑Gate, Lean).

  • Track and evaluate key metrics related to quality, efficiency, and resource utilisation.

  • Introduce tools and best practices that enhance collaboration, iteration, and prototyping efficiency.

Budgeting & Resource Management
  • Manage engineering budgets, staffing plans, and capital expenditure.

  • Optimise the use of internal and external resources for cost‑effective scalability.

  • Oversee procurement and maintenance of engineering labs, tools, and testing infrastructure.

Communication & Reporting
  • Provide clear reporting on engineering progress, challenges, and achievements to senior leadership and stakeholders.

  • Prepare and present technical documentation, resource forecasts, and long‑term engineering plans.

  • Represent engineering in cross‑functional and executive discussions.

Strategic & Organisational Contribution
  • Help shape a scalable and future‑ready engineering organisation capable of supporting product growth and diversification.

  • Contribute to long‑term product and technology strategy planning.

  • Experience managing sizable, multidisciplinary teams delivering complex hardware/software products.

  • Proven track record of leading products from concept through market launch.

  • Background in high‑volume or technically complex product categories is advantageous.

  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and new product introduction (NPI) environments.
