Job summary

Sanofi Waterford is inviting recent engineering graduates to join its Engineering Graduate Programme starting October 2026. You’ll rotate across Process Engineering, Project Engineering and Validation, gaining hands-on experience in biopharmaceutical manufacturing and regulatory-compliant projects.

Based in Waterford, the role offers a full-time onsite start with some work-from-home flexibility depending on role and business needs, and a chance to work with a diverse team while building

Qualifications

  • Recent graduate within the past two years.
  • Available to start in October 2026.
  • Have a minimum 2.1 degree or Master’s qualification in Engineering.
  • Have some relevant practical experience, for example through an internship or university project.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to organise and prioritise work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Be proactive, willing to learn and able to take initiative.
  • Enjoy collaborating while also working independently.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with different stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Complete three rotations across Process Engineering, Project Engineering and Validation.
  • Support engineering projects across the Waterford site, ensuring safety and timely delivery.
  • Assist with qualification and validation activities, protocols and reports.
  • Collaborate with experienced colleagues to develop technical and professional skills.

Our Engineering Graduate Programme in Waterford is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate who is ready to take the first step in their engineering career and join us in October 2026. You’ll build hands‑on experience across different areas of engineering while contributing to projects that support the manufacture of medicines and healthcare products for patients around the world. Over the course of the programme, you’ll complete three rotations across Process Engineering, Project Engineering and Validation, giving you broad exposure to how engineering supports a modern biopharmaceutical manufacturing site. From day one, you’ll be part of the team, working alongside experienced colleagues, contributing to real projects and developing the technical and professional skills that will help you build your career.

What you’ll experience
Process Engineering

You’ll learn how engineering principles are applied within biopharmaceutical manufacturing and build your understanding of process control, manufacturing standards and continuous improvement. You may support projects across areas such as formulation, filling, filter integrity testing, wash/autoclave processes, new product introduction and capacity expansion. You’ll also gain exposure to activities such as investigations, batch release support and trend reporting.

Project Engineering

You’ll gain practical experience supporting a variety of engineering projects across the Waterford site. Working alongside experienced colleagues, you’ll learn how engineering projects are planned and delivered safely, effectively, on time and within budget.

Validation

You’ll learn how new equipment, systems and processes are qualified and validated within a regulated biopharmaceutical environment. You’ll gain experience across the validation lifecycle, including preparing and executing qualification protocols and reports, completing validation documentation and supporting activities in line with Sanofi and regulatory requirements.

About you
  • Have graduated within the past two years.
  • Be available to start the programme in October 2026.
  • Have a minimum 2.1 degree or Master's qualification in Engineering.
  • Have a good working knowledge of database query tools such as SQL or PL/SQL.
  • Have some relevant practical experience, for example through an internship, work placement, university project or other relevant experience.
  • Have strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Be able to organise and prioritise your work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Be proactive, willing to learn and comfortable taking initiative.
  • Enjoy working collaboratively while also being able to work independently.
  • Have strong communication skills and be comfortable working with different colleagues and stakeholders.
Our recruitment process

Once you’ve submitted your application, our Early Careers Talent Recruitment team will review it against the programme requirements. If selected to progress, you’ll be invited to complete an online video interview, where you can tell us more about yourself, your motivation and your interest in the programme. Successful candidates will then progress to a conversation with a member of our recruitment team. The final stage will be an interview with our team, giving you the opportunity to meet some of your potential colleagues and managers and learn more about Sanofi and the programme. Final interviews are planned for the end of September, with the successful candidate joining the programme in October 2026.
