Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 0–2 years of relevant engineering or technical experience, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for manufacturing processes, with a focus on control systems performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot equipment and process issues, implement corrective actions, and recommend preventive solutions.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities on control systems, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to change control procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors to resolve technical issues and improve process outcomes.
• Support the design and development of new automated equipment and manufacturing processes.
• Contribute to the development of user requirement specifications and equipment design reviews.
• Participate in equipment qualification and validation activities in line with quality standards.
• Support risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety requirements for control systems.
• Communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Provide occasional on-call or out-of-hours support as required.

Summary

The Engineer I, Controls role supports the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of automated manufacturing systems within a regulated production environment. Essential Functions Of The Role

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in PLC-controlled systems and automated equipment.
• Maintain and update control system software and associated documentation.
• Monitor system performance and implement improvements to enhance uptime and efficiency.
• Support installation, commissioning, and validation of new equipment.
• Execute tasks in compliance with regulated manufacturing standards and procedures.
• Apply structured problem-solving methodologies to technical challenges.
• Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and documentation requirements in all activities.

Education And Work Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 0–2 years of relevant engineering or technical experience, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.

Education and Work Preferences

• Basic knowledge of PLC systems and programming.
• Familiarity with industrial networking and communication protocols.
• Understanding of pneumatic systems and schematics.
• Exposure to motion control, robotics, vision systems, and servo technologies.
• Experience or awareness of SCADA systems.
• Foundational electronics knowledge to support troubleshooting activities.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly across diverse audiences.
