Job summary

RecruitNet International Ltd is hiring a Staff Nurse for the Endoscopy Unit in a Dublin hospital. The role involves patient-centred nursing care, pre- and post-procedure preparation, and support during diagnostic procedures.

The successful candidate will hold NMBI registration with 1 year post-registration acute-hospital experience and Endoscopy-specific qualifications, and must be able to communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary team and adapt to rosters including night duty.

Qualifications

• Registered General Nurse with current NMBI registration.
• Minimum 1 year post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting, with at least 6 months in an Endoscopy Unit.
• Possess relevant Endoscopy-specific qualifications.
• Demonstrate knowledge of GI and respiratory conditions and patient education.
• Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualized nursing care with focus on patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality, patient-centred nursing care in the Endoscopy Unit.
• Admit, prepare and recover patients for endoscopic procedures; monitor and report changes.
• Administer prescribed medications and maintain patient safety.
• Provide technical assistance during endoscopic procedures with aseptic technique.
• Maintain endoscope decontamination and equipment traceability and complete documentation in Meditech.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team and support effective unit management.
• Participate in quality improvement, audits and continuing education.
