Job summary

Egis Ireland is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design across multidisciplinary projects. You will drive technical delivery, ensure regulatory compliance, and coordinate with design teams to meet project objectives.

The role requires Chartered status or active pursuit, proven project leadership, and a proactive approach to delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions in line with client needs.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or actively pursuing chartership.
• Technically excellent with knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Experience in leading multi-disciplinary design teams.
• Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage project design work to meet milestones and budgets.
• Review and comment on reports or designs for quality and compliance.
• Create scope, estimates and assign work to teams.
• Ensure completion certificates and end-to-end project closure.
• Lead coordination with design team to achieve objectives.

• Project planning and management to ensure timely delivery and budget compliance.
• Review and make comment on reports or designs.
• Create scope and estimates and assign large and small work to appropriate entity.
• Review completion certificates to complete the end to end process.
• Strong knowledge of IEC, IEEE, and national electrical regulations.
• Preparation of contract documentation and specifications to meet industry standards.
• Designing and reviewing design work of intermediate and junior engineers to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Coordination of work with all members of the design team to achieve project objectives.
• Ensuring that all designs and documents are prepared to the highest standards.
• Estimating and cost control on projects to maximize value for clients.
• Compiling project reports to provide accurate and timely information.
• Conceptual design studies and reports to inform project decisions.
• Mentoring and development of junior and intermediate engineers in the team to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or actively pursuing chartership
• Technically excellent with in-depth knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Experience in leading and supervising multi-disciplinary design teams.
• Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Competent in electrical design software and technology.
• Highly motivated and proactive with a willingness to take on new challenges.

Advantageous

• Maximo experience
• Diploma or Masters Degree in Project Management.
• ATEX qualification and experience.
• Certified Energy Manager or experience in energy sector.
• Experience working with water and waste water treatment plants.
