Job summary

RIGHT Group is recruiting Electrical Instrumentation Apprentices based out of Castleisland, Co. Kerry, Ireland, to work on sites in the region.

You will learn maintenance, calibration and repair of instruments on water and wastewater plants, alongside electrical installation practice, under supervision. You will complete the SOLAS Electrical Instrumentation Apprenticeship (QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft), a four‑year, seven‑phase programme alternating on‑the‑job training with off‑the‑job

Qualifications

  • SOLAS apprenticeship via QQI Level 6 for Electrical Instrumentation.
  • Minimum age 16 with SOLAS entry route.
  • Ishihara Colour Vision Test required for this trade.
  • Driving licence advantageous for site travel.
  • Willingness to travel to sites across the region.

Responsibilities

  • Learn maintenance, calibration and repair of instrumentation on water/wastewater plants.
  • Gain electrical installation experience under supervision.
  • Complete the SOLAS Electrical Instrumentation Apprenticeship programme.
  • Work on live plant sites with mentoring and progression.

RIGHT Group is a leading M&E contractor in the Water/Wastewater industry, with a first-class Apprenticeship Programme and a strong track record of bringing apprentices through to fully qualified craftspersons. We are recruiting Electrical Instrumentation Apprentices based out of our Castleisland office, working on sites throughout the region.

As an EI apprentice you will learn the maintenance, calibration and repair of the instruments used to measure and control process variables — flow, level, pressure and analytical instrumentation on live water and wastewater treatment plants — alongside electrical installation practice, under close guidance and supervision. You will complete the SOLAS Electrical Instrumentation Apprenticeship (QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft), a four‑year, seven‑phase programme alternating on‑the‑job training with the employer and off‑the‑job phases at national training locations.

What we're looking for:

  • A genuine interest in instrumentation and control, with an aptitude for maths, physics and accurate measurement
  • Maintain a presentable, professional appearance at all times, in line with site and PPE requirements
  • Adherence to all SHEQ and company standards
  • Care for company property, tools and test equipment
  • Willingness to travel to sites across the region and attend off‑the‑job training phases
  • A full driving licence, or actively working towards one, is an advantage

Entry requirements (SOLAS): minimum age 16, and either Grade D/"Achieved" in five Junior Cycle subjects (or equivalen223), an approved pre‑apprenticeship course, or three years' relevant work experience over the age of 16 with a SOLAS assessment interview. A pass in the Ishihara Colour Vision Test (without corrective lenses) is a mandatory entry requirement for this trade.
