Job summary

Pepsico in Cork is seeking an EHS Intern to support the existing EHS team as part of the Pepsico Intern recruitment program, contributing to Global GEHSMS compliance at the Cork site.

You will assist with safety inspections, risk assessments, incident reporting, and the upkeep of EHS systems, while developing your communication, IT and analytical skills.

This role offers hands-on experience in environmental, health and safety disciplines within a multinational environment.

Qualifications

• Undertaking a bachelor’s or master’s degree in an Environmental, Health, Safety (EHS) field or related discipline.
• Good communication & analytical skills.
• Team Player.
• Excellent people skills.
• Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Self-starter, self-sufficient and eager to learn.
• Strong IT Skills in Word, PowerPoint & Excel.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Proactively championing EHS, and safe working practices across the company’s activities and operations.
• Provides EHS updates, support and advice to colleagues.
• Assisting with reporting, investigating, and recording of accident, incident, near-miss and good catch data promptly, ensuring corrective actions are identified and tracked to implementation.
• Conducting safety inspections and risk assessments as required, ensuring appropriate action plans in place
• Support the implementation of the EHS management system (ISO14001 and ISO45001)
• Support the upkeep of EHS systems such as the legal, SDS and event database
