Job summary

Amazon Development Centre Ireland Limited is seeking a Software Development Manager to lead a world-class team building and operating large-scale DNS systems powering AWS and Amazon services. You will drive technical and people decisions, recruit top talent, and own product roadmaps using Scrum methodologies.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate cross-team initiatives, and champion highly available, fault-tolerant architectures in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field (or Master's).
• Experience managing system or software development teams.
• Experience operating mission-critical online services.
• Experience leading large-scale, technical or engineering programs with a proven record of thought leadership and program completion.
• Experience communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements and describe software product features.
• Experience recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers.

Responsibilities

• Technical and People Management, handle multiple priorities at once, lead independently.
• Be a leader-servant of a team of high performing software engineers with relentless high standards; arbitrate difficult situations and contribute to design reviews.
• Participate in escalation rotations to ensure services remain highly available.
• Relate complex concepts to senior leadership and drive trade-offs for high-impact decisions.
