Job summary

SignaCare New Ross is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing to lead our clinical and operational teams with a focus on resident wellbeing and regulatory compliance.

The role requires registered nursing credentials, several years in management, and strong leadership and communication skills to drive continuous quality improvement.

Qualifications

Registered General Nurse on the NMBI register.
Minimum 3 years' experience in nursing older persons.
Minimum 3 years' experience in a management role within health or social care.
Fluent English and Garda Clearance.
EU/EEA citizenship or unrestricted right to work in Ireland.

Responsibilities

Governance and overall management of the nursing home.
Oversight of clinical and social care delivery.
Management of admissions, transitions, transfers, and occupancy.
Developing relationships with residents, families, and external stakeholders (HIQA, HSE, GPs).
Leadership of HR functions, team development, and performance management.

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing to lead our clinical and operational teams. The successful individual will ensure the highest standards of care, compliance, and resident wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

Governance and overall management of the nursing home
Oversight of clinical and social care delivery
Management of admissions, transitions, transfers, and occupancy
Developing strong relationships with residents, families, and external stakeholders (HIQA, HSE, GPs, etc.)
Leadership of HR functions, team development, and performance management
Financial and administrative oversight
Facility and service management to ensure a safe and high-quality environment
Ensure the nursing home maintains the highest standards of regulatory and legislative compliance, with a strong focus on HIQA requirements, clinical governance, risk management and continuous quality improvement.
Foster a positive, inclusive and supportive workplace culture where staff feel valued, empowered and accountable, while promoting teamwork, open communication and a shared commitment to delivering excellent resident care.

Candidate Requirements

Registered General Nurse on the NMBI register
Minimum 3 years' experience in nursing older persons (within the previous 6 years)
Minimum 3 years' experience in a management role within health or social care
Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
Evidence of continuous professional development
Fluent English
Able to pass Garda Clearance and provide suitable references
Must have EU/EEA citizenship or unrestricted right to work in Ireland
