Job Description
  • Key Responsibilities
    • Operate heavy equipment: Safely operate excavators and other machinery to dig, move earth and lift materials.
    • Site preparation: Perform groundworks, clear debris and prepare sites for construction.
    • Equipment maintenance: Conduct daily inspections, perform minor repairs and complete routine maintenance such as greasing and checking fluid levels.
    • Follow plans: Read and understand blueprints, site plans and other specifications to ensure precise digging, grading and alignment.
    • General duties: Assist with loading and unloading materials, clearing sites and performing other tasks as assigned by supervisors.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Experience: Previous experience operating heavy machinery is often required.
    • Physical fitness: Ability to work outdoors in various conditions.
    • Communication: Clear communication skills are essential for working with a team.
    • Certifications: A valid driver’s licence and specific certifications (e.g., Safe Pass card) may be required.
    • Technical skills: Familiarity with modern technology such as GPS or laser‑guided systems is a plus.
    • Team collaboration: Coordinate with supervisors, other crew members and construction professionals to complete tasks efficiently.
