Job description

Medforce Recruitment are seeking both Staff Grade and Senior Dietitians to join the dynamic team in an acute setting in Ballinasloe, Co. Galway.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in an acute hospital environment providing high-quality nutritional care to a diverse patient population. The successful candidates will join a multidisciplinary team committed to patient-centred care and professional development.

Key Responsibilities of the Dietician:
  • Provide evidence-based nutritional assessment, intervention, and education to patients across a range of clinical areas.
  • Work collaboratively with medical, nursing, and allied health professionals to ensure the best outcomes for patients.
  • Support service development and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in supervision, audit, and continuing professional development activities.
  • For senior roles: provide clinical leadership and support to junior staff and dietetic students.
Essential Requirements for the Dietician:
  • A recognised qualification in Human Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • CORU registration as a Dietitian.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Senior Grade: Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience, including relevant acute hospital or clinical experience.
  • Staff Grade: Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting is desirable.
