Job summary

Gerry Kearns Plant Hire in Dublin area is seeking an HGV Mechanic to inspect, maintain, diagnose and repair diesel-powered heavy goods vehicles and related equipment. You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot using diagnostic software, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• Trade certification or qualification in HGV mechanics, H Vehicle Maintenance, or related field.
• 2–5 years’ diesel mechanic experience, preferably with forklifts or material-handling equipment.
• Experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, transmissions, and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and overhauls on diesel forklifts and telehandlers.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, brakes and steering.
• Record faults, repairs, and maintenance with clear documentation.
