Job summary

Blackrock Clinic in Dublin is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist (Diabetes) to deliver expert care within the Wards team. This permanent, full-time CNS role focuses on advanced diabetes management from assessment to outcomes, working closely with the MDT on site.

The post requires NMBI registration, 1+ year of post-registration experience in diabetes care, and a Level 9 qualification. The CNS will lead clinics, education, and service development across care pathways.

Qualifications

• Be registered in the General Division of the active Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) or be eligible for registration.
• Minimum of one year post-registration full-time nursing experience in the relevant division.
• Minimum of one year’s full-time experience in specialist diabetes care.
• Hold a Level 9 qualification relevant to the specialist area of care.
• Demonstrate clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to discharge the role.

Responsibilities

• Provide a specialist nursing service for patients with diabetes.
• Undertake comprehensive patient assessment covering physical, psychological and social aspects.
• Develop and implement care plans with the MDT.
• Monitor and adapt care plans based on patient response.
• Coordinate investigations, therapies and follow-up.
• Educate patients and carers, promoting self-management and healthy lifestyle.
