Job summary

AECOM is expanding its Development Infrastructure team in Ireland, seeking a Civil Engineer to support design and delivery of infrastructure projects across Ireland and the U.K. This role offers strong foundations toward Chartered status within a collaborative, mentoring environment.

You’ll work on drainage, highways, flood risk and water infrastructure, coupling technical rigor with a flexible hybrid working model and clear opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Degree-qualified Civil Engineer, working towards Chartered Engineer status.
  • Experience or interest in drainage networks, SuDS, pumping stations, water distribution and flow control.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit and drainage modelling software.
  • Basic understanding of road and pavement design, flood risk, and relevant approval processes (e.g. Section 50).

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the design of storm and foul drainage networks for residential, commercial, and industrial developments.
  • Support flood risk assessments, site inspections, and the preparation of technical reports.
  • Prepare design drawings in 2D and 3D and work alongside CAD technicians as part of project teams.
  • Help manage project correspondence and support project cost and programme tracking.
  • Work closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams under the guidance of senior engineers.

AECOM’s Development Infrastructure team is expanding, and we’re looking for a Civil Engineer to support the design and delivery of civil engineering infrastructure projects across Ireland and the U.K. This role is suited to an engineer looking to build strong technical foundations while working towards Chartered status.

Our Development Infrastructure team delivers civil engineering services across Ireland and the U.K., working with developers, housebuilders, local authorities, and major clients. We support projects at all stages, from feasibility and planning through to detailed design and construction, covering drainage, highways, flood risk, and water infrastructure.
The team has a strong focus on collaboration, technical quality, and mentoring, providing a supportive environment for early-career engineers.

Requirements:

  • Degree-qualified Civil Engineer, working towards Chartered Engineer status.
