Residential Developer

Cork City (Hybrid)

Design Manager

€90K plus package DOE

Duties:

The role will require significant influence across the complete life cycle of projects from acquisition, planning and right through to construction and handover. A key focus within our approach is upfront construction status design, to allow our construction teams to delivery fast paced and efficient programmes.

Required:
  • 10 years’ experience, specifically in Architecture and or developer lead residential housing, duplexes and apartments.
  • Degree in Architecture or other relevant qualifications
  • Robust knowledge of all planning and building regulations in Ireland and the UK
  • Ability to lead and manage design teams, interrogate designs and provide mark ups where required
  • Proficiency in Cad or Revit and InDesign
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and implement the design management and coordination structure across the business to allow the business to scale up without compromising design standards and quality of construction status information.
  • Robust knowledge of design stages, coordination and the ability to mark-up drawings and ensure third party design consultants are fully compliant with local building codes.
  • Work alongside the planning and preconstruction teams to lead the briefing, procurement and appointment of suitably experienced design consultant partners.
  • Lead, monitor and minute design team meetings across various projects within the business, ensuring the design programmes are achieved and all design outputs are compliant with specifications
  • Develop and maintain the standard library of unit types and continuously explore new typologies and designs to ensure cost efficiency and buildability.
  • Work alongside all construction teams – planning, creative, commercial, construction and sales to ensure everyone’s requirements are integrated within the design information produced by third party consultants.
  • Attend site visits and meetings on various projects and within head office as required
  • Prepare monthly reporting for design progress, key issues and offer solutions to ensure programme alignment across the business.
