Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Civil Design Engineer to contribute to water and wastewater infrastructure projects in Ireland. You will work across feasibility through construction, coordinating with clients, contractors and statutory bodies to deliver quality designs.

You will have a civil engineering degree and post-graduate experience in water/wastewater schemes, with strong problem-solving, communication and organisational skills, and a proactive, collaborative approach.

Qualifications

• A degree in civil engineering or closely related discipline.
• Post-graduate experience in design and delivery of water or wastewater projects preferred.
• Awareness of health and safety legislation and designer duties in the design process.Contract forms knowledge: NEC, FIDIC, Public Works Contracts and Uisce Éireann contract documents.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure across feasibility, optioneering, preliminary and detailed design, procurement and construction stages.
• Prepare engineering designs, calculations, drawings, specifications, schedules and contract documents to required quality.
• Coordinate design inputs with multidisciplinary colleagues, clients, contractors and authorities.
• Develop understanding of project scope, deliverables, risks and interfaces; communicate progress and issues to Project Manager.
• Participate in site visits, design reviews and construction-stage activities; apply HSE requirements throughout the design process.

The successful candidate will contribute to the design and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects for Uisce Éireann (formerly Irish Water) and other clients, working across project stages from feasibility and optioneering through detailed design, procurement and construction.
