Job summary

Western Alzheimers is recruiting Dementia Specific Trainee - Healthcare Support Assistant for Moylough. This CE placement offers development with accredited training to support your career in elder care.

You will work with elderly clients in their homes and day services, learning to provide person-centred support, personal care, meal preparation and engaging activities. Garda Vetting is required, and coaching will be provided to build confidence and competencies.

Qualifications

• No experience required; accredited training will be provided.
• Dementia care duties including personal care, meals, social engagement and stimulation.
• QQI/FETAC Level 5 training will be supported through the placement.
• Coaching and mentoring will develop confidence and competencies in the role.

Responsibilities

• Caring for people with Alzheimer's Disease/Dementia.
• Assisting with personal care and daily routines.
• Preparing meals and supporting nutrition.
• Facilitating social engagement and therapeutic activities.
