Job summary

Veolia Energy Services Ireland Limited seeks a Demand Response Services Manager to lead DSU operations, expand VPP contracts, and drive energy projects across Ireland. You will manage multiple teams, oversee market activities, and coordinate with Veolia's energy and engineering divisions.

The role involves negotiating contracts, performing investment-grade audits, and developing new storage/hybrid initiatives within the growing DS3 market. International travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Energy Engineering or similar required.
  • 5+ years in a senior role.
  • Experience mentoring/managing team members.
  • Experience with tender evaluations and contract negotiations.
  • Experience with investment-grade audits and projecting revenue models.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operation of two Demand Side Units.
  • Account manage existing VPP clients and grow services.
  • Issue month-end figures for the VPP unit.
  • Lead tender evaluations and contract negotiations for DS3/VPP.
  • Develop new projects (battery storage, hybrid solutions) in Ireland.
  • Support CHP operations and Veolia Energy Bureau activities.

Demand Response Services Manager Contract Duration/Type:Permanent Location:Blanchardstown Working Pattern (Time/Hours):39 Hours Monday - Friday Overview of the role: The successful candidate will be involved in assisting with securing new and extended contracts and will support the delivery of projects from origination to implementation. The role will focus on developing VPP and DS3 services for the industrial utilities sector and also include large commercial, public, and buildings sectors. Manage the delivery of Energy Markets and Hubgrade Services to existing and new clients. The role will give the successful candidate exposure and experience across the divisions of energy, waste, and water and interaction with suppliers, clients, institutional bodies, and operations. Some international travel may also be required. Duties of the Role include; Management of the daily operation of two Demand Side Units. Maintain participation in the Demand Side Markets for both our Short Run and Long Run DSUs. Liaise with the Site Monitoring Centre (Veolia UK & Ire) and coordinate troubleshooting activities as required. Insure all compliance issues are dealt with efficiently. Account manage all existing VPP clients with a view to expanding our services where possible. Issue month-end figures for the VPP unit to group accounts. Identification, analysis, design, costing, negotiation, and project management of VPP and DS3 contracts. Performing in-depth investment grade audits, and projecting revenue models. Originating project development plans and drafting contract scopes of work for tendering exercises. Carrying out tender evaluations and contract negotiations Support the implementation team with the development of project schedules and budgets Support combined heat and power (CHP) operations Support the Energy Bureau service to Veolia clients Reports to the Head of Technical for Energy Responsibility for 2 or 3 x technical specialists within the VPP team Development of new projects involving battery storage and/or hybrid solutions in Ireland's growing market for DS3 services and asset flexibility Supporting the development of a variety of projects in Veolia's pipeline, including CHP schemes, district heating, biomass CHP, and energy performance contracting Responsibility for the growth and operation of the Energy Markets and Hubgrade Services Required skills for this role; Degree in Energy Engineering or similar 5 years + in a similar senior role Experience managing/developing / mentoring team members Experience with tender evaluations and contract negotiations Experience with CHO ops Proven track record with performing in-depth investment grade audits and projecting revenue models.
