Job summary

Meaghers Pharmacy Group in Dublin is seeking a Delivery Driver for a permanent, full-time on-site role. You will be responsible for loading and unloading goods, delivering to diverse business stakeholders, and maintaining accurate delivery records.

Responsibilities include following optimal routes, ensuring vehicle safety and documentation, handling payments where required, and upholding health and safety standards. Reports to Group Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

• Assist in loading and unloading items from the delivery vehicle.
• Drive to delivery points following the best routes and time schedules.
• Ensure items are properly stacked and secured inside the delivery vehicle.
• Take delivery instructions from supervisors and ensure documentation is available at loading.
• Collect payments for deliveries where applicable and provide change.
• Adhere to delivery schedules and report any discrepancies to the Line Manager.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and comply with health and safety guidelines.

Delivery Management

• Assist in loading and unloading vehicle with items to be delivery
• Ensure that items are properly stacked and secured inside the delivery vehicle
• Take delivery instructions from supervisors
• Chart out appropriate route for delivery on the map or GPS
• Maintain proper knowledge of loaded items
• Ensure that appropriate and complete documentation is available at the time of loading
• Drive vehicle to the point of delivery by using the best possible route
• Ensure the speed limits are adhered to in order to ward off possible misadventure
• Ensure that the vehicle’s paperwork is in order
• Assist in unloading items off the vehicle in a safe manner
• Ensure that delivery receipts are signed
• Collect payments for deliveries made and tend change
• Ensure that delivery schedule is followed
• Ensure all delivery discrepancies are reported to the Line Manager

Health and Safety

• Ensure all stock is managed as per health and safety guidelines
• Comply with standards and safe working practices outlined during health and safety training and as documented in company safety statement
• Actively look for hazards when carrying out duties and take appropriate action to remove and/or report to manager
• Operate all machinery and equipment as per manufacturer’s and manager’s instructions
• Maintain security awareness at all times

Maintenance

• Ensure the vehicle is kept clean, tidy and free from obstruction at all times in line with company policy.
• Follow housekeeping guidelines as specified by Line Manager.

Administration

• Ensure all paperwork and documentation is completed as per company guidelines.
