Job summary

KPMG Ireland is seeking a Deal Analytics Senior Associate in Belfast, joining our Transactions Services practice with a hybrid work model. You will develop deep analytics, build dashboards, and deliver data-driven insights for deal and due diligence projects.

The role requires advanced Excel, data manipulation skills and experience with tools like Power BI / Tableau. You will present findings to senior executives and help drive client decisions.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in a M&A/FP&A environment or consolidation accounting.
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyse and manipulate large datasets efficiently.
  • Experience using Alteryx, Power Query, Power BI or Tableau.
  • Professional accounting qualification preferred (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
  • Excellent analytical and project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, drive and enthusiasm are prerequisites.

Responsibilities

  • Work with financial due diligence and commercial strategy teams to provide deep business analytics, develop insightful analysis and integrate findings into project-based deliverables.
  • Retrieve, prepare, and process data from sources including transaction databases and operational data.
  • Design and build efficient data analytics solutions, models, reports and dashboards.
  • Client facing interaction with senior decision-making executives on a day-to-day basis.
  • Lead delivery of projects including financial analysis and report writing.
  • Present findings and recommendations to clients.
  • Support the wider management group within Transaction Services.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of service delivery and practice.

A snapshot of your peer group:

  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in a M&A / FP&A environment / Consolidation Accounting
  • Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to analyse and manipulate large datasets efficiently
  • Experience in using one or all of: Alteryx, Power Query, Power BI, Tableau
  • Professionally qualified accountant or holder of a recognised financial qualification preferred (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CFA, CIMA or equivalent)

Your team:

KPMG Transactions Services is the leading firm in Ireland in assisting clients in areas including financial, tax and commercial due diligence, pre and post deal evaluation, sell‑side assistance, financing and refinancing assistance, contractual discussions and integration. We assist our clients with capital markets transactions including initial public offerings, class 1 transactions, reverse takeovers and fundraisings.

We work on project‑type engagements lasting from several weeks to several months, working extensively with significant corporates, domestic and international banks, other financial institutions, private equity and other investment funds offering team members the widest exposure to acquisition and financing related activity.
