Job summary

Vodafone Ireland is seeking a Data Governance Lead to drive trusted data foundations across the organisation. You will partner with senior stakeholders to establish data ownership, quality and governance standards, enabling data products and AI use cases.

The role requires strong collaboration, change leadership and experience with data governance frameworks, GDPR, and Collibra. The Data & Analytics team sits at the heart of Vodafone Ireland's ambition to become more data-driven and AI-enabled,

Responsibilities

• Lead Vodafone Ireland's Data Governance roadmap.
• Build Data Owners/Stewards community across the business.

• Improve data quality and embed proactive management of data quality risks.
• Enable trusted, well-governed data products reusable across multiple use cases.
• Drive adoption of data governance tooling and capabilities (e.g., Collibra).
• Champion data as a strategic business asset with ownership embedded in business functions.

You are equally comfortable discussing business strategy with senior stakeholders, data quality challenges with operational teams, governance frameworks with risk and compliance teams & data governance tooling with IT.

You can translate governance requirements into practical actions that improve decision-making, reduce risk and help the business realise greater value from its data.

Your Team:

You will join the Data & Analytics function that sits at the centre of Vodafone Ireland’s ambition to become a more data-driven and AI-enabled organisation.

The team delivers trusted analytics and data products used across the business while leading Vodafone's Data Governance and Data Management agenda. We are enhancing the foundations that allow the business to confidently leverage data, analytics and AI at scale through strong data ownership, high-quality data, common business definitions and robust governance practices.

The next challenge for you:

Vodafone Ireland is investing in trusted data foundations to accelerate value from Data, Analytics and AI. As Data Governance Lead, you will be at the centre of that journey.

This role combines governance, business partnering and change leadership. Building on existing foundations, you will work across the organisation to enhance ownership of data, improve data quality, define common business language and ensure trusted data is available to power reporting, data products and AI use cases.

• Lead Vodafone Ireland's Data Governance roadmap ensuring governance capabilities continue to evolve in line with business, regulatory and strategic priorities.
• Build a strong community of Data Owners and Data Stewards across the business
• Establish trusted business definitions, metadata and governance standards for critical data domains
• Improve data quality and help embed proactive management of data quality risksEnable trusted, well-governed data products that can be reused across multiple business use cases
• Drive adoption of data governance tooling and capabilities, including Collibra
• Champion a culture where data is treated as a strategic business asset and ownership of data is embedded within business functions
• Partner with senior stakeholders to prioritise governance initiatives and maximise business value
• Ensure alignment with GDPR, Privacy, Security and Group Governance standards

Who you are:

• Proven experience leading or implementing Data Governance, Data Management initiatives within a complex organisation
• Strong understanding of Data Governance frameworks, Data Quality Management, metadata management, data ownership and stewardship.
• A passion for helping organisations unlock value from trusted data and an understanding of how strong data foundations enable Analytics, AI and Data Products.
• Experience building relationships, influencing stakeholders and driving alignment across business and technology teams.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to translate governance concepts into practical business outcomes.
• Experience driving organisational change and embedding new ways of working through collaboration rather than authority.
• Experience establishing or supporting Data Owners and Data Stewards and embedding accountability for data within business functions.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise initiatives across competing demands, focusing effort on areas that deliver the greatest business value and risk reduction.
• Understanding of data privacy, governance and regulatory requirements, including GDPR.
• Experience working with enterprise data platforms (Google Cloud Platform) and data governance tooling (Collibra experience advantageous).
• Familiarity with modern data architectures, data products, analytics and AI concepts would be advantageous.
• Familiarity with Telco data domains would be advantageous
