Job summary

Primark Stores Limited is seeking a Data Governance Analyst for the Smart Retail Ordering (SRO) program. You will help implement governance, define data standards, and improve data quality across product, supplier, inventory, and ordering datasets.

You will partner with business and technology teams to embed governance, provide training, and drive continuous process improvements, ensuring accurate, scalable data for strategic decision-making in a fast-paced retail landscape.

Qualifications

  • Experience in data governance, data quality or data management.
  • Strong understanding of retail data related to buying, merchandising, supply chain or operations.
  • Ability to work with business stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Analytical mindset with data quality issue resolution experience.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment with changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support the rollout of data governance practices within the Smart Retail Ordering (SRO) programme, working with Data Owners and stakeholders across technology, retail, and supply chain functions to establish clear data ownership and accountability.
  • Develop and maintain data definitions, business glossaries, standards, and governance documentation for critical SRO data elements.
  • Improve the quality, consistency, and usability of product, supplier, inventory, and ordering data through data quality management and Master Data Management (MDM) practices.
  • Monitor data quality, manage data issues, conduct root cause analysis, investigate discrepancies, and perform validation and quality checks across data platforms.
  • Support data lineage and traceability initiatives, providing transparency and confidence in ordering, inventory, and stock management decisions.
  • Partner with business and technology teams to embed governance principles into new SRO processes and systems, delivering training and guidance to promote best practices in data management.
  • Drive continuous improvement by preparing ad hoc reports and data extracts, identifying and implementing process enhancements, transforming data analysis for greater accuracy and scalability, and supporting governance reviews, audits, and risk management activities.

  • Highly analytical, with experience identifying, investigating, and resolving data quality issues to support accurate and reliable business information.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence audiences at all levels.
  • Demonstrates a high level of integrity, professionalism, diplomacy, and tact, supported by strong planning, organisational, prioritisation, and multitasking skills to deliver work within agreed timelines.
