Job summary

Mastercard is offering an internship in Data Engineering in Ireland. You will join an international team to apply data, analytics, and technology to real business challenges.

You will design and maintain data pipelines, build scalable models, and translate business needs into actionable technical solutions. The role requires current enrollment in a bachelor’s or accelerated master’s program with expected graduation in 2028 and availability for a six-month internship starting February 2027.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or accelerated master's program, graduating in summer 2028.
• Avail 6 month internship program starting in February 2027.
• Experience with data science, data engineering, data analysis, statistics or related field.
• Experience with programming and/or querying languages such as Python, SQL, R or similar.
• Understanding of data structures, databases, data processing and/or data analysis concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Apply data, analytics, and technology to solve complex business problems and deliver meaningful insights.
• Gather, analyse and interpret data to identify trends, opportunities and solutions.
• Develop and support data-driven applications, models, tools and solutions.
• Design, build and maintain data pipelines, data models and scalable data processing solutions.
• Apply statistical, analytical, ML and/or AI techniques to real-world business challenges.
• Work with large and complex datasets across multiple domains.
• Collaborate with cross-functional and international teams to deliver data and technology solutions.
• Translate business requirements into effective technical solutions and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders.
• Continuously explore and apply new technologies to improve data and AI capabilities.
