VANRATH is seeking an Azure Data Engineer on a contract basis in Dublin. You will design and implement scalable data pipelines on Snowflake and Databricks, using Azure Data Factory and Data Lake to support enterprise data platforms. The role involves client-facing delivery and optimizing ETL/ELT processes.

The successful candidate will have strong SQL and Python/PySpark skills, with a track record of building enterprise-scale pipelines and data models, in a hybrid/remote setup.

• Senior Data Engineer or Data Consultant with strong commercial experience.

Azure Data Engineer (Contract)

Dublin, Ireland | Hybrid/remote

Negotiable day rate | 6 months, with scope to extend

VANRATH is partnering with a global technology consultancy that delivers cloud and data transformation projects for some of the biggest names in enterprise. They're bringing in an experienced Data Engineer on contract to help build modern data platforms on Snowflake, Databricks and Microsoft Azure. You'll be joining a collaborative team that works with well-known organisations across a range of sectors.

The role

You'll design and build scalable data pipelines and cloud data platforms, delivering solutions across Snowflake, Databricks and Azure Data Services. Day to day, you'll develop reliable ETL/ELT workflows for large, complex datasets. You'll also improve data models, platform performance and processing costs, and support migration, integration and transformation programmes. Because this is a client-facing role, you'll work directly with stakeholders to understand what they need and deliver solutions to match, while sharing your expertise and promoting data engineering best practice across the team.

What you'll bring

• Strong commercial experience as a Senior Data Engineer or Data Consultant
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake and Databricks
• Solid Azure skills, particularly Azure Data Factory and Azure Data Lake
• Advanced SQL, plus Python or PySpark
• A track record of building enterprise-scale ETL/ELT pipelines
• A good grasp of data modelling, governance and data quality
• Consultancy or client-facing delivery experience, with confident communication and stakeholder management
