Job summary

Deep Digital Solutions Group in Ireland seeks a Data Engineer to independently deliver industrial data integration and historian solutions for life sciences clients. This role suits an engineer with 1–3 years' experience who wants to deepen technical expertise and work directly with clients on digital transformation projects.

You will configure historian systems, build data interfaces, troubleshoot data quality and performance, and contribute to compliant, scalable solutions while mentoring

Qualifications

• Experience configuring data integrations, interfaces, or historian platforms.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Configure and manage historian systems, tag structures, metadata, and asset frameworks.
• Build and maintain data interfaces using OPC DA/UA, MQTT, REST APIs, and other industrial connectivity solutions.
• Troubleshoot data quality, performance, latency, and integration issues.
• Support system testing, validation, deployment, and cutover activities.
• Produce high-quality technical documentation, configuration records, and testing evidence.
• Ensure compliance with GxP, CSV, and data integrity requirements.
• Collaborate with clients, project teams, and senior engineers to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards, tools, and processes.
• Mentor and support Graduate Data Engineers where appropriate.

Deep Digital Solutions is seeking a Data Engineer to independently deliver industrial data integration and historian solutions for clients in life sciences and regulated manufacturing environments. This role is ideal for an engineer with 1–3 years of experience who is looking to deepen their technical expertise, work directly with clients, and contribute to complex digital transformation projects.

Job Requirements

Required

• 1–3 years' experience in data engineering, industrial automation, historian systems, or related fields.
• Experience configuring data integrations, interfaces, or historian platforms.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

Desirable:

• Experience with AVEVA PI System (AF, Analytics, Interfaces, Integrator).
• Knowledge of OPC, MQTT, Kafka, REST APIs, and Unified Namespace architectures.
• Exposure to pharmaceutical, life sciences, or other regulated industries.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Experience with Python, PowerShell, and industrial automation systems (PLC, SCADA, DCS).
