Job summary

Stelfox is recruiting an experienced Data Architect for a scaling Fintech software provider in Ireland to design and build a data platform powering enterprise financial clients.

The role focuses on a medallion Data Lake House architecture, Databricks and Snowflake implementations, and a growth plan to handle 40-100x data over 2-3 years while enabling rapid analytics for product and AI initiatives.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science, maths, science or equivalent.
• 8–10 years in data architecture/platform architecture.
• Hands-on experience architecting and scaling Snowflake/Databricks in production.
• Cloud architecture experience - Azure / AWS / GCP.
• Production experience with Databricks & Snowflake implementations.
• Experience with BI platforms like Pyramid Analytics.
• Experience across DataOps, MLOps and GitOps is useful.

Job description

Stelfox is supporting a scaling Fintech software provider who are fully embracing AI capabilities and Agentic AI as they build on top of existing products and data environments.

The objective is to build an Agentic platform that surfaces intelligent insights, executes autonomous workflows and enables natural language interactions with complex financial datasets.

We are looking to recruits an experienced Data Architect who will lead the design and build-out of this Data platform that will power solutions for leading enterprise financial clients.

This platform will/should:

• Scale from millions of rows/tables to over 100 million rows daily over the next 2-3 years as clients and data volume grows.


• Achieve sub-second query response times across all scales.

What your role will look like:

• Designing a scalable Data Lake House / Platform with medallion architecture.


• Lead Databricks / Snowflake implementation (essential)


• Architect for 40-100x growth over the next 2-3 years


• Build self-serving analytics capabilities to help reduce time to market from months down to days.

What we are looking for:

• Degree in computer science, Maths, science or equivalent.


• 8-10 years in data architecture/platform architecture


• Direct hands-on experience in owning / personally architecting and scaling a Snowflake/Databricks solutions that can process between 50-100m rows in production.


• Cloud architecture experience - Azure / AWS / GCP


• Production experience with Databricks & Snowflake implementations.


• Experience with BI platform like Pyramid Analytics or equivalent.


• Experience across areas like DataOps, MLOps, GitOps is useful for this role.

This is a architect role so someone leading by example and giving technical direction (this is not a people manager or high level whiteboard strategy role).

We are looking for someone who can help us to architect, implement and scale a fast growth data platform while working closely with product teams, AI architects, data & engineering teams as we utilise AI capabilities along the way.
