Job summary

KPMG Ireland is seeking a CSA Senior Cost Manager for the Mission Critical Team. Based in Dublin and Cork, this hybrid role will lead cost management and QS activities from inception to completion, overseeing projects from €1m up to €50m+ and mentoring junior staff to deliver high‑quality services to clients.

• Understanding project types within Mission Critical sector

• Line-management or mentoring experience
• Ability to advise clients and design teams on procurement, cost, value and risk

A snapshot of your peer group:

• Degree Qualified – BSc or MSc – in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management
• Professionally Qualified – ideally Chartered Quantity Surveying Status with the RICS, CIOB or other equivalent institution
• Understanding a variety of project types/sizes/sectors, within the Mission Critical sector.
• Understanding of RIAI and FIDIC standard forms of contract
• Experience of preparing bid submissions.
• Prior line-management experience or mentoring
• Proven ability to advise clients and design teams on procurement, cost, value and risk, not just cost in isolation
• Excellent numeracy, verbal and written communication skills

As a Senior Cost Manager working within the wider team, you will lead and deliver in all aspects of cost management and quantity surveying from project inception to completion.

• Collaborate with an Associate or Director to successfully manage and deliver several projects, typically ranging in value from €1m - €50m+.
• Drive performance standards through expert communication and effective use of the performance management process. Maintain and develop good relationships with clients, take every opportunity to uphold and increase the profile of the firm as a provider of professional, premium quality services to the construction industry.
• Be responsible for managing and mentoring junior staff to deliver our Cost Management service efficiently and effectively.

• Procurement advice
• Ensuring deliverables are produced to high standards and issued on time
• Cost planning and Cash-flow forecasting
• Value and risk management
• Post contract management
• Supporting and developing team members
• Supports senior staff in ways to make projects more efficient. Seeks ways to improve accuracy and efficiency of tasks.
