Job summary

Eurofins Biomnis in Dublin 18 is seeking a Medical Scientist / Biomedical Scientist in Microbiology to join the Microbiology Department. The role focuses on accurate and timely reporting of patient results, working with senior staff to improve laboratory services and participate in IQC/EQA activities.

Training and development support will be provided to progression within the organisation. CORU registration is required to practice as a Medical Scientist in Ireland.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science is required.
• CORU registered is required for Medical Scientist or HCPC for Biomedical Scientist.
• Relevant experience in a medical microbiology laboratory is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Use Laboratory Information Management Systems in place in the laboratory.
• Maintain documentation related to the department (Training records, SOPs, forms).
• Assist in daily department tasks and ensure timely patient results.
• Analyse specimens and authorize results with accuracy.
• Communicate significant information to seniors and clinicians regarding patient safety.
• Participate in EQC/IQC, EQA/IQA and monitor non-conformances and audits.
