Job summary

Munters Corporation in Ireland is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to join our R&D team. You will design and develop industrial control strategies for data center cooling equipment, test control software on prototypes, and integrate controls with sensors, drives, and automation hardware.

The role requires a degree in a related field and 3+ years in industrial software or controls, with experience in Function Block Diagram programming, PID tuning, and hands-on prototype work.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant discipline is required.
• 3+ years of experience developing software or controls for industrial systems.
• Experience with HVAC, refrigeration, cooling, process control, or industrial automation.
• Strong experience with Function Block Diagram programming.
• Understanding of control systems, PID tuning, equipment sequencing, and system dynamics.
• Experience with industrial sensors, programmable controllers, and automation hardware.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working hands-on with prototype equipment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop industrial control strategies using Function Block Diagram (FBD) programming.
• Develop and test control software for data center cooling equipment.
• Integrate and test controls on prototype systems in the R&D laboratory.
• Work with mechanical and electrical engineers to define equipment sequences and operating modes.
• Develop and tune PID and cascaded control loops.
• Configure sensors, actuators, variable-speed drives, controllers, and automation hardware.
• Support testing, data collection, and analysis of control-system performance.
• Troubleshoot software, electrical, and system-level control issues.
• Maintain software documentation, version control, and revision history.
• Support the transition of successful R&D solutions into production.
• Contribute to product testing, commissioning, and continuous improvement.
