Job summary

A leading construction firm in Tullamore is seeking an experienced site manager to lead project teams, ensuring health and safety procedures are followed and projects are completed on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will have an engineering qualification and 5-7 years of relevant experience, excellent communication skills, and strong IT proficiency. Role And Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
  • Lead and manage site teams consisting of Project Managers and Site Managers to ensure works are progressing as planned.
  • Ensure all company health and safety procedures are implemented and followed.
  • Establish works are completed within time frames noted on the construction programme.
  • Check and understand all drawings and specifications. Ensure that any errors/omissions are formally communicated to the design team in timely manner.
  • Review designs and make recommendations on buildability and cost saving for the client while maintaining quality and improving margin.
  • Oversee timely flow of information from the design team and ensure all matters arising are addressed by site team.
  • Ensure all long lead-time materials or subcontract packages are coordinated in a timely fashion by Site team.
  • Close liaison with the Construction Director to ensure business objectives and project strategies are met and exceeded.
  • Commercially minded – work with project QS’s to manage project finances and work to exceed budget targets.
  • Maintain maximum cost effectiveness through efficient use of resources.
  • Ensure compliance with drawings, specification, building regulations and good building practise.
  • Establish project resource requirements are met and lead \\ motivate the project team
  • Ensure compliance with local statutory and regulatory obligations
  • Report to Directors and provide monthly report regarding progress updates on programme.
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and skills
  • Engineering or construction qualification and 5-7 years’ experience in similar role.
  • Team management/leadership experience and ability to mentor and develop staff.
  • Good time management skills and ability to meet agreed deadlines.
  • Must have strong knowledge of building detail and construction technology.
  • Excellent written, oral communication and time management skills.
  • Strong IT skills with use of Word, Excel, MS Project
  • Procore experience helpful.
