Job summary

PE Global is recruiting a Continuous Improvement Specialist for a leading biotech company in Dublin South. This is a 12-month contract position focused on deploying and sustaining CI routines, coaching belt candidates, and delivering improvement projects.

You will analyze data, facilitate cross-functional workshops, and partner with engineering teams to drive process confirmations and performance dashboards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, business, or related field.
  • 3–5 years in continuous improvement, operational excellence, or process improvement.
  • Lean Six Sigma training or belt experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Job description

PE Global is currently recruiting for a Continuous Improvement Specialist on behalf of a leading biotech company in Dublin South. This is an initial 12 month contract role.

Overview:
  • The Continuous Improvement Specialist is a key member of the Continuous Improvement and Industrial Engineering team. The role acts as the CI business partner for assigned areas, supporting deployment and sustainment of improvement routines in line with the site's management system.
  • The role holder supports daily management, structured problem solving, standard work, process confirmation, productivity ideation, CI culture, and delivery of assigned improvement projects.
  • This role requires strong facilitation, coaching, data-analysis, stakeholder-management, and change-management capability. The role overlaps deliberately with Industrial Engineering on improvement identification, opportunity quantification, and implementation support, while retaining a strong emphasis on improvement systems, routines, coaching, and sustained adoption.
Responsibilities:
  • Support assigned areas in daily management, standard work, structured problem solving, process confirmation, and improvement routines.
  • Independently facilitate problem-solving sessions, workshops, and improvement activities with cross-functional groups.
  • Coach Yellow Belt and Green Belt candidates, project sponsors, process owners, and team members on improvement tools, project governance, and sustainment.
  • Promote productivity ideation and CI culture by identifying, scoping, proposing, and initiating improvement opportunities aligned with business priorities.
  • Own and manage assigned process confirmations and the area process-confirmation schedule.
  • Deliver assigned improvement projects from problem definition through implementation, benefit validation, control planning, and sustainment.
  • Use data analysis to accelerate problem solving, understand KPI performance, identify drivers, and quantify improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with Industrial Engineering colleagues to understand relevant capacity models and use capacity insight to identify opportunities and quantify improvements.
  • Liaise with CI and Business Performance Specialists to ensure valuable operational KPIs are reflected in digital dashboards and related performance tools.
  • Support rapid process analysis and improvement using appropriate digital, automation, and AI-enabled tools where practical.
  • Complete any other tasks or projects assigned by the Continuous Improvement and Industrial Engineering Lead.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Business, Operations Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar continuous improvement, operational excellence, manufacturing improvement, business process improvement, or project delivery role.
  • Evidence of previous Lean and/or Six Sigma training and practical improvement project experience; formal belt certification is not required.
  • Familiarity with at least one structured problem-solving method and strong knowledge of daily management and standard work.
  • Ability to independently facilitate problem-solving sessions and manage cross-functional groups through structured analysis and action planning.
  • Strong data-analysis capability, including ability to access, structure, analyse, and interpret operational data to support problem solving.
  • Experience using Excel for analysis, tracking, and communication of improvement work.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
  • Exposure to both DMAIC and A3 problem-solving methods.
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt, Green Belt, Black Belt, or equivalent practical continuous-improvement experience.
  • Experience coaching project sponsors, belt candidates, process owners, or frontline teams.
  • Experience building or supporting daily management routines, idea-management systems, process confirmation, standard work, CI governance, or improvement project portfolios.
  • Experience using Power Query, SQL, Power BI, Power Automate, AI-enabled tools, or similar digital tools to support process analysis and improvement.
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical, GMP, regulated manufacturing, or similarly controlled operating environment.
  • Experience in communications, change management, stakeholder engagement, or culture-change initiatives.
