Team: Ultra Low Power Audio Group, Analog Devices Inc. (ADI)

The Ultra Low Power Audio Team is dedicated to redefining audio experiences for next-generation hearables devices by delivering premium sound quality with exceptional energy efficiency. Our work centres on industry‑leading edge‑AI audio platforms that combine high‑fidelity heterogeneous audio processing with ultra‑efficient power architectures.

The team focuses on enabling a seamless user experience through:

  • Architecting low‑power systems leveraging heterogeneous compute platforms.
  • Integrating innovative audio algorithms developed by ADI or third parties.
  • Providing software development kits and reference platforms to enable our customers.
Position Overview

Systems engineering teams at Analog Devices anticipate, uncover, and solve complex customer challenges ahead of product development by applying robust systems engineering methodologies and leveraging Analog Devices’ extensive portfolio of sensing technologies in collaboration with external partners. Join a cutting‑edge team at Analog Devices, where you’ll help develop adaptive, personalized, and contextually aware consumer audio technologies. As a Principal System Applications Engineer, you will work on system integration across embedded consumer platforms, addressing application‑level challenges in the low‑power consumer audio market.

Responsibilities
  • Lead global, multi‑disciplinary teams across hardware, software, and business domains, influencing stakeholders and ensuring alignment on project goals.
  • Mentor and develop talent, fostering a collaborative and high‑performing team environment.
  • Shape technology and product roadmaps, aligning technology evolution with market needs and long‑term business objectives.
  • Customer engagements throughout the product development cycle—from concept to launch—debugging issues and resolving problems in our application and/or FPGA labs.
  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams (Marketing, Design, Software, Field Applications) and with external partners to deliver complete system solutions.
  • Deep understanding of market use cases to solve application‑level challenges in hearable devices such as TWS earbuds and over‑the‑head headsets.
  • Translate customer needs into solutions, thinking expansively and using a wide lens to capture both immediate and future requirements.
  • Architect balanced system trade‑offs between performance, power, complexity, and cost to meet demanding design goals.
  • Drive hardware/software integration to ensure seamless user experiences.
  • Support verification and validation efforts, including pre‑silicon (FPGA systems) and post‑silicon testing, to guarantee compliance with requirements.
  • Develop evaluation kits, system designs, and customer‑facing collateral such as application notes and demos.
  • Create compelling demos for customer visits and trade‑show events.
  • Provide technical communication and support during customer engagements to ensure success.
