Job summary

Mercy University Hospital (MUH) in Cork City, Ireland, seeks a Consultant Urologist to join the Urology team. The role encompasses OPD sessions, ward rounds, theatre sessions, and day-case surgery at MUH and Mallow General Hospital, with participation in multidisciplinary meetings and teaching.

Permanent Contract, Mercy University Hospital (MUH) & Mallow General Hospital (MGH).

This is an appointment to the HSE South West Region on a Public Only Consultants' Contract 2023 by the Health Service Executive.

The initial commitment for this post will be to the Mercy University Hospital for 13 hours per week and Mallow General Hospital for 13 hours per week.This post may be subject to restructuring in the future to facilitate the reorganisation of acute services in line with new clinical models of acute and community services. It is noted that the post must be congruent with the requirements of, and facilitate implementation of national health policy, the HSE's National Clinical Programmes including commitment to deliver the relevant performance outcomes.

The following qualifications shall apply to this appointment:

• Registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland in the specialty of Urology.

The Consultant Urologist will work as part of the Consultant Urology Team based at MUH and will participate in the following:

• OPD Clinical Sessions in MUH/MGH
• Ward Rounds in MUH
• Theatre sessions in MUH
• Day case surgery at MGH and CUH/Surgical Hub
• Multidisciplinary meetings in MUH
• Flexible Cystoscopy sessions at MGH
• Teaching and Education.
• The post holder will participate in the city wide rota for Urology.
