Job summary

Remedium seeks an experienced Consultant Physician in Geriatric Medicine to join a Munster-based acute hospital service for an initial three-month contract. You will provide consultant-led assessment, diagnose and manage older patients, and contribute to multidisciplinary care.

This role offers clinical leadership and opportunities to develop services for older persons in collaboration with nursing and allied health teams, with an immediate start for an Irish Medical Council-registered physician.

Qualifications

• Specialist Registration with the Irish Medical Council.
• Previous experience in Geriatric Medicine.
• Eligibility to work in Ireland preferred (UK/EU passport).
• Medical Council Certificate of Good Standing.
• Evidence of recognised specialist qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultant-led assessment, diagnosis and management of older adult patients.
• Deliver specialist geriatric medicine services across inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and discharge planning.
• Support service development and best practice initiatives in older persons' care.
• Provide clinical leadership and supervision to junior medical staff.
• Maintain high standards of clinical governance, patient safety and quality care.
• Work collaboratively with medical, nursing and allied health professional teams.
