Job summary

Veolia Ireland is seeking a Construction Site Agent for a 12‑month Specified Purpose contract on site at Ballyboden, Dublin. The project features heavy civils, deep excavations, sheet piling, dewatering, pipework and large insitu water tanks in a steel frame enclosure.

Lead the site team and subcontractors, ensure the highest standards of health, safety, quality and environmental management, and coordinate with Veolia project management, client and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Civil or Trade background showing progression to management level.
• 10 years’ experience on multi-discipline site projects; water/wastewater preferred.
• Up to 10 years’ site management experience in water/wastewater.
• Experience in Civil construction of Water Treatment plants is an advantage.
• Excellent oral and written reporting skills.
• Good communication skills; teamwork orientation.
• Computer literacy in Google Sheets and Docs; email proficiency.
• IOSH SHE for Construction Site Managers or similar preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage, operate and run all site activities on behalf of Veolia.
• Develop and maintain H&S file on site.
• Plan project with Project Manager; ensure drawings, design and safety plans are aligned.
• Lead on-site safety, conduct audits and toolbox talks.
• Review RAMS and lift plans from subcontractors for safe methods.
• Prepare weekly/monthly progress reports; attend client meetings.
• Coordinate civil, mechanical, electrical and automation subcontractors.
• Maintain ITP compliance and project quality plan.
• Ensure waste and environmental plans are followed; maintain housekeeping.

The project involves heavy civils, deep excavations, temporary works in the form of sheet piling/ cofferdam/dewatering and pipework installation. It includes the construction of large insitu concrete water tanks and the building enclsoyre is a steel frame with blockwork and cladding.The role involves leading the construction team and subcontractors on site and will have the responsibility to put H&S of site personnel at the top of the agenda.The role will interact with the following departments: Veolia Design and Project Management Teams, Client, Operations on site, Contractors and sub-contractors.Within a supportive, friendly and challenging environment, you will get to work on exciting projects, whilst learning from a diverse team of talented people and leading experts.What’s more, you’ll be provided with the freedom to push boundaries and constantly learn and develop your skill-set.
