FRS Recruitment is partnering with Glencar, a rapidly growing UK & Ireland main contractor delivering major industrial, logistics, commercial, and life sciences projects.

Recent Irish project delivery includes:

  • IKEA Distribution Centre, Greenogue (2023)
  • 240,000 sq ft Net-Zero Warehouse for PRL Logistics, Baldonnell (2024)

Glencar continues to expand its Irish operations and is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join the team.

Role Overview

The Construction Manager will manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, to specification, and in full compliance with SHEQ standards. You will lead site teams and subcontractors, drive operational excellence, and maintain strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day site operations and ensure compliance with HSE guidance, CDM regulations, and company SHEQ policies.
  • Carry out site inductions, toolbox talks, briefings, inspections, and daily records.
  • Oversee subcontractor performance, quality checks, material compliance, and progress tracking.
  • Support programme delivery, short-term planning, and reporting (Asta experience beneficial).
  • Maintain site documentation: attendance, plant registers, safety inspections, QA records.
  • Identify risks and opportunities and elevate issues to the Project Manager promptly.
  • Maintain high standards of site organisation, traffic management, housekeeping, and safety.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, local authorities, and internal teams.
  • Mentor and support junior team members and assistant managers.

Requirements
  • Degree in Construction Management or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience working in a Construction Manager or Senior Site role.
  • Experience delivering large-scale industrial, logistics, commercial, or similar projects.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, CDM regulations, and quality systems.
  • Ability to manage subcontractors, site teams, and multiple work fronts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Asta PowerProject an advantage.
  • Strong communication, leadership, problem‑solving, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight schedules.
