Job summary

Walls Construction in Ireland is seeking an experienced Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects during pre-contract. You will measure, price works, review drawings and specs, and coordinate with supply chain partners to support commercial decisions.

You will maintain estimating records, develop cost databases, and produce pricing breakdowns and tender submissions for senior management and clients, while supporting risk management and value engineering.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Estimator in construction tendering.
• Strong numerical ability and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook; familiarity with estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs, and take-offs from drawings.
• Analyse tender docs and site data to identify risks and contingencies.
• Obtain and compare subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Maintain cost databases and precedent documents.
• Collaborate with design, commercial and site teams.
• Prepare pricing breakdowns and tender submissions for seniors.
• Support risk management with contingencies and budget savings.
• Maintain DMS records and estimating libraries.
• Participate in bid meetings and track pricing progress.
• Adhere to health & safety, quality and data security.
