Job summary

CoAction West Cork is inviting applications for a Support Worker in Skibbereen Residential Services. This permanent part-time post (28 hours per week) supports adults with intellectual disabilities and autism, assisting with daily living activities and programme delivery.

You will work under the Social Care Leader, contribute to training and development, promote dignity and safety, and participate in a multidisciplinary team. A 12-month panel may be formed for future roles.

Qualifications

FETAC level 5 in Healthcare or equivalent required.
Qualification in Learning Disabilities, Social Studies, Social Sciences, Nursing, or Childcare preferred.
First Aid certification is required.

Responsibilities

Deliver programmes under guidance of instructor or Social Care Leader.
Support service users with personal care as needed (clothing, feeding, toileting, hygiene).
Maintain dignity and respond to individual needs in a caring manner.
Promote a friendly, supportive environment in the training centre/group home.
Report accidents, incidents and complaints promptly.
