Job summary

Dotmatics Ltd. is seeking a Cloud Ops Engineer to join the ELN Platform Cloud Operations team in Ireland. You will build, operate and improve robust AWS-based infrastructure to support engineering teams, focusing on reliability, automation and security.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience with cloud infrastructure and production services on AWS
• Hands-on experience operating production workloads in AWS using DevOps best practices
• Experience in Agile and DevOps environments
• Strong Python scripting skills (required) or PowerShell/Bash
• Solid Linux administration and knowledge of Windows environments
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts, tools and pipeline design
• Experience with serverless architectures (AWS Lambda, API Gateway)
• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet) and IaC (Terraform)
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across engineering, security and DevOps teams

Job description

• As a Cloud Ops Engineer on our ELN Platform Cloud Operations team, you will help build, operate and improve robust, scalable and secure AWS-based infrastructure that enables engineering teams to build, deploy and operate their services effectively. You’ll work closely with engineering, security and DevOps teams to improve platform reliability, automation and operational efficiency
• Build and Maintain Cloud Infrastructure: Help develop and maintain highly available, secure and scalable AWS-based infrastructure supporting multiple products and services
• Drive Automation: Develop and improve infrastructure-as-code (IaC), automation and self-service tooling to improve developer productivity and operational efficiency
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with engineering, security and DevOps teams to implement cloud and infrastructure best practices
• Enhance Platform Reliability: Contribute to observability, monitoring and incident response practices to maintain reliable and resilient services
• Support Cloud Security: Apply security best practices to infrastructure and operational processes, helping to protect sensitive data and maintain compliance
• Share Knowledge: Contribute to engineering best practices, participate in peer code reviews and share knowledge with colleagues

Around 4+ years of experience working with cloud infrastructure and production services, ideally with hands-on experience in AWS. You’ll be comfortable working in a DevOps-focused environment, troubleshooting infrastructure and operational issues, and automating repetitive tasks.
