Job summary

eBay in Dublin, Ireland is seeking an experienced software engineer to join the Cloud Infrastructure team. You will contribute to cloud-native infrastructure using Go, Python or Java, and Kubernetes on Linux systems.

You will collaborate with internal customers to deliver key business outcomes, build reliable, scalable infrastructure, implement observability, respond to incidents, and help improve security and operational standards across cloud services.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of programming experience with Go, Python, or Java.
• Experience with Internet infrastructure protocols on Linux (DNS, HTTP proxy, SSH, SMTP).
• 3+ years building large-scale, distributed, high-availability systems in production.
• Experience deploying applications with Kubernetes.
• Experience with AI for programming, designing, and troubleshooting.
• Experience in a high-traffic, large-scale environment.
• Familiarity with bare metal OS provisioning and managing OS repositories is a plus.
• Open-source contributions are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal customers and partners to deliver key business outcomes.
• Develop and enhance infrastructure applications to meet reliability, scalability, and availability needs of eBay.
• Ensure infrastructure applications are compliant with security and operational standards.
• Implement observability practices to ensure comprehensive monitoring and alerting across cloud services.
• Respond to cloud incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
• Develop and maintain incident response plans.
