Job summary

NHS Scotland invites applications for Head of Clinical Technology, based in Raigmore Hospital, Inverness. The post leads Assistive Technology, including Wheelchair Services, alongside Orthotics, Prosthetics and Clinical Engineering across NHS Highland and the Western Isles.

The role requires an appropriate higher qualification with extensive relevant experience and HCPC Clinical Scientist registration. A full UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Higher qualification and demonstrable extensive experience in Assistive Technology.
• Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Clinical Scientist is essential.
• Full UK driving licence is required.
• Clinical lead for wheelchairs and specialist seating in the service.

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific leadership of Assistive Technology including Wheelchair Services.
• Lead Orthotics, Prosthetics and Clinical Engineering services across NHS Highland and Western Isles.
• Supervise trainees in the Scottish Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering Training Scheme.
• Act as a primary consultant for board Research, Development and Innovation and medical devices.
