Job description
Purpose of the Role

The purpose of this post is to play an integral role in the provision of the diagnostic cytogenetic service provided by the Department of Clinical Genetics. The post holder would be responsible for the selection, analysis, interpretation and accurate reporting of genetics tests as required to answer the clinical question. They play a lead role in the day to day running of the service by working closely with other members of a team to ensure the provision of an accurate, timely and high quality diagnostic genetic service.

Essential Criteria
  • Degree in a relevant biological science subject
  • Experience with laboratory genetics technologies
  • Understanding of ISO 15189 standards
  • Excellent knowledge of clinical genetics
  • Ability to analyse and critically interpret scientific data
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Good computer skills/IT literacy
  • Good organisational and time management skills
