Job summary

RecruitNet International Ltd is seeking a Clinical Nurse Manager II for the Surgical Day Unit in Dublin, Ireland. This fixed-term, full-time role offers leadership of nursing staff and oversight of patient flow within Surgical Services.

You will collaborate with Theatre, PACU, and the Head of Surgical Services to ensure safe, evidence-based care, staff development, and service improvements, with a strong emphasis on multidisciplinary teamwork and professional practice.

Qualifications

• Registered General Nurse with NMBI in good standing.
• Post-registration qualification in Nursing Management desirable.
• Minimum 3 years’ clinical nursing experience.
• Minimum 2 years’ progressive nursing management experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to nursing staff within the patient care units.
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee patient flow across Surgical Services to ensure timely delivery of care.
• Collaborate with Theatre and PACU Nurse Managers, Head of Surgical Services, and multidisciplinary teams to optimise outcomes.
• Monitor and evaluate quality of care, ensure it is evidence-based and aligned with standards.
• Support recruitment, development, and performance management of staff.
• Ensure availability of safe equipment, supplies, and resources while monitoring budgets.
• Participate in quality improvement, risk management, and accreditation activities.
• Maintain effective relationships with patients, families, and all healthcare professionals.
• Support education and professional development through training and study days.
