Clinical Nurse Manager - Clonmel Co. Tipperary

Responsibilities
  • Lead and implement change, with particular reference to HIQA standards
  • Display leadership, innovation and creativity through the work with staff and residents
  • Carry out and supervise audit of all aspects of nursing care for example: medication management and error, daily spot checks for all check lists utilised by nursing and care assistant staff (for example: shower/linen, restraint release, falls mats/falls beam, equipment and other check lists as the need arises)
  • Receive, supervise and oversee the reception of new residents
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care needed to address the resident’s physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs in accordance with the resident themselves
  • Provide support & supervision to care & nursing staff in all aspects including orientation of new staff, training and development of care staff, organising and co-ordinating their duties, guiding, supporting, motivating, monitoring and evaluating staff performance
  • Play a central role in maintaining a safe environment for residents, staff and visitors
  • Play an active part in daily resident hand-over, ensuring excellent communication between all staff caring for residents is maintained. Coordinate the shift, ensuring suitable delegation of tasks for nursing and care staff is allocated
  • Responsibility to step up as the person in charge when required
Minimum requirements
  • Nursing experience : Minimum 2 years in nursing home in Ireland with minimum of 5 years nursing experience.
  • Management Experience: Preferably has SSN or CNM experience. CNM experience not necessarily essential if the candidate is a very strong senior staff nurse.
  • Communication skills: High level of English
  • Speciality: an interest in a particular area of nursing with courses undertaken: eg gerontology, infection control, dementia
