Lilly in Cork is offering a 12-week CLS Internship in Little Island, Cork, hybrid with 50% on-site and 50% remote work. Start date June 2027; open to UCC students from Medical, Science or related fields.

The CLS Intern will support laboratory data management, sample tracking, and trial execution, working with CLS Associates to deliver high-quality data and operational excellence across global trials. This internship offers hands-on experience in a regulated lab environment and exposure to GCP

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Teams.
• Interest in clinical research, diagnostics, or laboratory operations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Curiosity and eagerness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist with tracking biological samples using SMART and internal systems.
• Support verification processes (e.g., 1st & 2nd person checks in IWRS).
• Help monitor and update patient status reports and imaging trackers.
• Upload and organise lab reports in SharePoint, MS Teams, and CLS Hub.
• Assist with eTMF uploads and document reconciliation.
• Support creation and maintenance of study-specific trackers and manifests.
• Participate and organise team/topic presentations and team building events.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives and team newsletters.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders (e.g., CRAs, CLAs) to follow up on queries.
• Attend monthly team meetings and contribute to note-taking and task follow-ups.
• Compliance Maintain compliance with all departmental, MQS, and LRL training requirements.
• Learning Outcomes: have knowledge of clinical drug development and end-to-end lifecycle of clinical trials; familiarity with regulatory documentation and GCP; develop skills in data management, communication, and project coordination; experience working in a global pharmaceutical environment with real-world impact.
