Job summary

AIB in Dublin is seeking a Senior Associate for Origination in the ROI & UK Team within Climate & Infrastructure Capital. You will support best-in-class origination, risk management and deal execution across a growing portfolio, contributing to climate action goals.

As part of the ROI & UK Team, you will write credit papers, strengthen client relationships, and contribute to risk model development while guiding junior staff and collaborating across teams.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years' experience in project finance or specialised lending preferred.
  • Strong financial analysis and credit assessment skills.
  • Experience with credit risk models and regulatory capital calculations is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Write credit papers for new business and for reviews and amendments.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to risk management and adherence to codes of conduct and regulation.
  • Contribute to risk and deal selection strategy and to ongoing model development.
  • Perform financial modelling and sensitivity analyses.
  • Support credit reviews and internal audits for Climate & Infrastructure Capital portfolio.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff.
  • Communicate risks and mitigants clearly to stakeholders.
  • Support strategic lending to circular economy and sustainable businesses.

As a member of the ROI & UK Team, you will be required to support best in class origination, risk management and deal execution across Climate & Infrastructure Capitals growing portfolio.

Key accountabilities;
  • Write credit papers for new business for consideration by the relevant Credit Authority as well as for annual reviews and transaction amendments
  • Enhance relationships with new and existing customers with good communication and customer focus
  • Form an integral part of the risk management culture in AIB and adherence to codes of conduct, laws and regulation
  • Contribute in determination of risk and deal selection strategy
  • Contribute to ongoing Credit Risk model development
  • Perform financial modelling analysis and run detailed sensitivity analysis
  • Support credit reviews and internal audit engagements for the Climate & Infrastructure Capital portfolio
  • Manage and help develop more junior staff members
  • Communicate the impact and key risks and mitigants associated with same
  • Make a difference through strategic lending to circular economy and sustainable businesses
What you Will Bring ;
  • Relevant 3rd level qualification with 3+ years' experience within a similar area (preferably Project Finance or Specialised Lending) which could include Banking, Advisory or Industry
  • Strong Financial Analysis, Strong credit skills and Proficiency in financial modelling
  • A proven awareness of sustainable lending and an analytical and results focussed mindset
  • Team player with strong communication and influencing skills
  • Knowledge and experience of the development and business application of credit risk modules utilised for the calculation of regulatory capital or ECL would be beneficial
