Job summary

Freeburn Transport Limited in Ireland is seeking an experienced Class 1 Driver for ROI operations. This family-owned transport and logistics business operates a fleet of 80+ vehicles and offers full-time, permanent roles with a 45-hour work week from our base in Naveny.

You will drive nationwide, including potential UK trips, and must meet licence/CPC/tacho requirements, perform safety checks, and uphold professional standards with customers.

Qualifications

• Valid Clean Category C/C1/CE and/or C1E HGV licence.
• Driver CPC compliance with valid CPC Card or Code-95.
• Digital tachograph card and understanding tachograph requirements.
• Fridge & Curtainside experience.

Responsibilities

• Drive to loading/unloading points per schedules.
• Conduct daily walk around checks on lorry and trailer.
• Refuel regularly and practice fuel-saving measures.
• Comply with drivers’ hours, tachograph and rest periods.
• Interact professionally with customers at all times.

Job Description – Class 1 Driver – ROI

We are a family-owned transport and logistics business operating in Ireland, with a fleet comprising over 80 vehicles, with an additional number of trailers. With an expansion of our customer base and fleet we require experienced lorry drivers to cover local and tramping island of Ireland work, as well as the possibility of UK Trips.

Hours of Work: The successful candidates will be employed on a full-time permanent basis, working 45 hours per week.

Job Requirements: Abide by health and safety requirements. Conduct daily walk around checks on a regular basis of both the lorry unit and the trailer/ fridge, checking tyres, brakes, lights, oil, water and fuel levels and general condition of vehicle. Drives vehicle from depots to loading / unloading points in accordance with schedules. Adhere to speed limits at all times and drive with care and attention, being aware of other vehicles, road users and pedestrians. Adhering to all relevant driving laws, regulations and company policies. Treat with care and attention and respect all items of customer and company property. Communicate any problems immediately to the appropriate Operations Manager, Planning Managers, Compliance, or the Fleet Maintenance Manager. Deal with customers in a courteous, professional, and efficient manner at all times. Refuel on a regular basis and show and practice good fuel saving efficiencies when out on the road. Abide by drivers’ hours, tacho and rest periods.

Qualifications: Valid Clean Category C, C1, CE, and/or C1E HGV driving licence or equivalent. Driver CPC compliance with valid and up to date driver CPC Card or Code-95 on driving licence. Valid and up to date digital tachograph card with a full understanding of tachograph requirements. Previous experience of Fridge & Curtainside Work. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently. Good understanding of safety procedures. Flexible approach to working hours.

Location: The successful candidates will be required to work nationwide but will work from our base in Naveny.
