Civil Engineer / Senior Civil Engineer - Water & Wastewater | Belfast / Cork

Vickerstock Recruitment are working exclusively with McAdam Design to recruit a Civil Engineer / Senior Civil Engineer to join their growing Water Design & Build team.

Your new role as Civil Engineer / Senior Civil Engineer

You’ll play a key role in supporting the design and delivery of a diverse range of water and wastewater projects, including treatment works, pumping stations, pipelines, and network improvements. Working closely with senior team members, you’ll gain exposure across all stages of design – from feasibility through to detailed design and construction support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the planning and delivery of water and wastewater design projects for key utility clients
  • Prepare feasibility studies, reports, design specifications, and tender documentation
  • Undertake site visits and scope surveys, including topographical, geotechnical and ecological investigations
  • Develop civil and MEICA design solutions using AutoCAD / Revit and other relevant design software
  • Liaise with internal and external design teams, clients, and contractors
  • Attend client and design meetings, providing input to ensure constructability and delivery efficiency
  • Assist with programme management, planning inputs and technical documentation
What you'll need to succeed
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership with a recognised institution (ICE or equivalent)
  • Strong technical understanding of water and wastewater networks, treatment assets and design standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities
  • 3-7 years’ experience in a similar design consultancy or project delivery role (desirable)
  • Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit) and Microsoft Office
