ICDS (UK) Ltd. seeks a Civil Engineer to work on wastewater treatment projects in Macroom, Co. Cork. You will contribute to design, build, operate and maintain stages, coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors while ensuring safety and quality across multiple projects.

The role requires at least 2 years in the field, a Civil Engineering degree, and proficiency with GPS, Total Station, CAD, and MS Office. Driving licence and strong teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role in water or wastewater.
  • Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Team player with involvement in procurement and coordination.
  • Strong knowledge of MS packages and field measurement tools (GPS/Total Station/CAD).
  • Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team delivering one or more projects.
  • Ensure HSQE standards on-site and adherence to statutory requirements.
  • Familiar with programme and budgets and impact of overruns.
  • Review specifications and drawings; develop design solutions.
  • Use GPS/Total Station/3D scanner for setting out and as-built data.
  • Prepare technical reports, safety files, and monthly progress reports.
  • Ensure materials and subcontracts meet requirements; liaison with stakeholders.
  • Attend site meetings and coordinate with consultants and subcontractors.
  • Maintain CPD and stay updated on standards and technology.

Civil Engineer (Wastewater Treatment)

Macroom, Co.Cork

Required for leading Infrastructure contractor who undertakes turn-key projects in water and wastewater for the municipal and industrial sector including design, build, operation, and maintenance stages.

Skills and Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a similar role, preferably in the water and wastewater industry.
  • Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Ability to work as part of a team in project delivery and provide input at team meetings and engage with suppliers and sub-contractors at procurement stage and in the delivery of their scope of supply during contract delivery.
  • Good working knowledge of MS packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the use of GPS, total station and CAD.
  • Full driving licence.
Responsibilities:
  • Work as part of a team in the delivery of one or more projects at any one time
  • Ensure Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability standards, policies and procedures are always adhered to on-site.
  • Be familiar with the HSQE management system and procedures in conjunction with the current statutory requirements
  • Need to be familiar with programme and budgets for the project, fully understanding the impact any overruns shall have on the project
  • Review and develop specifications and design drawings, have the ability to develop solutions to design based issues.
  • Use of GPS, total station and 3D scanner for setting out and collection of As Built information
  • Completion of technical reports and quality documentation, input to safety files and O&M and completion of monthly progress reports
  • Ensuring design, materials and workmanship is in line with the specified requirements
  • Utilising procurement software to ensure materials and subcontracts are ordered/ awarded as and when required
  • Liaise with relevant consultants, subcontractors, site staff, commercial resources and the general site team involved in the project
  • Completion of weekly whiteboard meetings on site, planning the efficient and safe delivery of works
  • Day to day interaction with the employer’s representatives, stakeholders and members of the public
  • Keep appraised of the latest standards and technology through continuous professional development (CPD).
